An introductory talk by a Judge will be given on the basics of the English Legal System, followed by qualification routes unveiled and detailed by recently qualified barristers and solicitors. A welcome drinking event will be held for the group to socialise with barristers and solicitors.
A barrister will guide the study on a mock criminal case, based on which a mock hearing will be conducted the next day. Afterwards, a trip guided by barristers to the Central Criminal Court – the Old Bailey for the group to experience a real criminal trial at the most important criminal court in England.
The criminal case study will continue based. The Group will then be divided into prosecution and defence teams, and a mock hearing will be conducted, with a barrister acting as the Judge. Detailed feedback will be given. An optional dinner will be held after Day 4 for the group to socialise with barristers and solicitors.
Immigration barristers, experts and an Immigration Judge will lead the study on the up-to-date immigration rules and how immigration appeals are conducted. A talk will follow on the recent immigration rules changes, which may affect aspiring lawyers who wish to qualify in the UK and their options forward in response.
A barrister will guide the study on a mock civil case, based on which a mock hearing will be conducted the next day. Afterwards, a trip guided by barristers to the High Court of Justice for the group to experience a real civil/commercial hearing in the most renowned court building in England.
The civil case study will continue based. The Group will then be divided into opposing teams, and a mock hearing will be conducted, with a barrister acting as the Judge. Detailed feedback will be given. An optional dinner will be held after Day 10 for the group to socialise with barristers and solicitors.
